Why Choose Board & Train?
Smart Use of Vacation Time
If you’re traveling, having disruptions at home due to schedules or work being done on your house, or particularly busy with visiting guests, upgrading from standard boarding to a board & train gives your dog a better, more productive experience.
Ideal for Busy Owners
You get to keep your schedule free while your dog gets dedicated, structured training throughout the day.
Accelerated Learning
Your dog receives focused training multiple times a day, helping them make faster, more consistent progress.
Real-Life Training Environment
Because your dog lives with me and my dogs in my home, does training there and at my business space, and outside in the neighborhood, your dog will experience training that generalizes to real life, not just a classroom.
Compassionate, Personalized Approach
Your dog receives one-on-one attention, customized training, and a warm, family-style stay.
Support After Your Dog Comes Home
You’ll receive one and a half hours of hands-on coaching with handouts so you feel confident continuing the training at home.

What are your qualifications?
I’m a Certified Behavior Consultant –Canine (CBCC-KA) and Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) as well as a graduate of the Karen Pryor Academy trainer’s program. I’m also a Fear-Free Certified Dog Trainer and am certified in Canine & Feline CPR and First Aid. I’ve been in business for almost 20 years.
What training methods do you use?
I use positive, reward-based training methods that build confidence and encourage your dog to enjoy the learning process. Good behavior is reinforced using treats, praise, play, and whatever else your dog finds rewarding.
Do you guarantee results?
Because every dog learns at their own pace, no ethical trainer can guarantee specific results. However, I do guarantee that your dog will receive consistent, compassionate, and personalized training designed to set them up for success.
Where will my dog stay?
Your dog will live in my home with me and my dogs. They’ll be treated like one of the family.
How long is the program, and why is that the right fit for my dog?
You get to choose how long you want your dog in the program. During our correspondence, we’ll discuss your goals and talk about what you can expect based on your dog’s length of stay.
Will my dog be fully trained when they come home?
Training is always an ongoing process, so I’ll show you exactly how to maintain progress and continue reinforcing what your dog has learned.
What does a typical day look like?
Training happens in structured sessions throughout the day, but also naturally during everyday routines. If your dog offers a behavior we are working on — like coming when called in the house — they’ll be rewarded. Training occurs during meals, playtime, rest periods, and outings.
What if my dog isn’t progressing?
If progress is slower than expected, I’ll evaluate what’s going on and discuss it with you. We may adjust goals based on your dog’s abilities.
Where does training take place?
Training takes place both inside my home and at my training space, giving your dog exposure to different environments for more reliable results.
How often will I receive updates?
I’ll send snapshots as often as you like so you don’t miss your pup too much! I’ll also send news of progress and successes.
