 Just You & Your Dog

The Sharp solution for busy you and your pooch!

Just You & Your Dog private training allows you and your dog to be coached and trained together. You learn with your dog and can quickly build on the relationship between handler (you!) and your dog. Just You & Your Dog training may teach the same basic skills but can also target specific issues that you are having with your dog, in the environment where they most occur!

Most private training sessions take place in the home, but they can also be elsewhere, such as walks depending on what you and your pet need. One of the many advantages of the Just You & Your Dog program is the ability to focus on the dynamic between you, or other family members, and your dog’s behavior. This is a great way to get individual attention on specific situations and will give you the skills that you all need to be successful. Like all Sharp Dog training programs, after the Initial Consultation, you receive a custom training plan developed just for you and your family.

How does Just You & Your Dog training work?

During an initial consultation, you and your trainer will discuss your dog’s behavior and your expectations, then determine goals for improving basic skills for your dog. You’ll receive a customized program to achieve these goals, based on the specifics of your situation and the existing behaviors of your dog. We then schedule the sessions that we will need.

Your trainer will come to your home one to three times a week. Depending on the plan, training could take one week or more.

Most dogs improve rapidly when they are the only focus of attention (just like most people.)  The advantage to at-home private sessions is that a skilled trainer can teach in several hours what it might take months for you and your dog to learn in a group class. Just You & Your Dog is ideally suited for teaching home manners such as Basic Cues (e.g. sit, down, stay), Coming when Called, Polite Greetings, Leash Walking, Doorway Manners, Confidence Building and more.

Then we schedule an Initial Consultation with Sharp Dogs. This hour and a half consult is $125 and takes place with you, your dog and the trainer, usually at your home.

During the consult, we talk about your dog’s current behaviors and skills,
your goals for your dog’s behavior, and we create a training plan for turning these goals into realities.

Initial Consultation:  $125
1.5 hours of in-home consultation with you, your family and your dog.

Subsequent Private Training and Coaching:  $75/hour
